Zhono chips hold up against firmware updates
July 1, 2024
Zhono chips are not impacted by the firmware updates for the HP W1331, Ricoh MPC 2504, Canon NPG88 and Brother TN-2420 series devices.
In June 2024, Ricoh, HP, Canon and Brother released the latest firmware for the Ricoh MP C4504/MP C5002/MP C2504 series copiers, HP W1331 series copiers, Canon NPG88 series copiers and Brother TN-2420 series printers (see Figure 1).
After testing, Zhono’s engineers verified that its compatible chips used in these series printers and copiers are not impacted by the OEM firmware update, and that the chips function correctly on the printers and copiers in both previous and current models.
The company said: “Zhono will continue to monitor OEM firmware upgrades. As soon as the firmware upgrades are released, Zhono will promptly respond to updates and remain committed to providing customers with safe and reliable chip solutions.”
