Y Soft and Ringdale now also support Microsoft Universal Print
July 22, 2020
Organisations no longer need on-premise print servers to manage print queues and print drivers, a long-standing burden on IT resources.
Universal Print, developed by Microsoft, moves key Windows Server print functionality to the Microsoft 365 cloud. Before Universal Print, customers had to deploy complicated and unreliable print driver management tools. Instead of working with a “one print queue” approach, users had to be mindful of which specific print queue to use, depending on locality, application, or document type.
Y Soft announced that YSoft SAFEQ Cloud family (YSoft SAFEQ CloudPro and YSoft SAFEQ Breeze) of print management services are fully integrated with Universal Print. YSoft SAFEQ, which provides on-premise print management services, is also fully integrated.
“Integration with Universal Print will continue to ensure print services run smoothly and reliably across all your printers,” said Wouter Koelewijn, Chief Product Officer, Y Soft. “Our Universal Print integration technology supports cloud management, easy and secure device enrollment, and is designed for a zero-trust security environment.”
Ringdale, the provider of FollowMe is also collaborating with Microsoft to integrate with Microsoft’s new Universal Print solution. As of 21 July, Universal Print is available in public preview for Microsoft 365 subscribers from Microsoft.
“Strategically partnering with Microsoft allows Ringdale to augment Universal Print with our security and compliance features that are essential for large enterprises that are transforming their workplaces,” said Jan Bollmann, Executive Vice President at Ringdale. “Our customers and partners will be able to take advantage of Universal Print with their existing printing fleets”.
“Universal Print was designed to move key Windows Server print functionality to the Microsoft cloud and simplify printing,” says Issa Khoury, Principal Programme Manager Lead at Microsoft. “Collaborating with Ringdale offers customers the joint value of Universal Print and FollowMe for added privacy and security.”
