Xerox named official Glasgow 2018 provider
July 10, 2018
The OEM will provide all printing and scanning services for the European Championships in Scotland next month.
In a similar arrangement to that fulfilled by Xerox at the London 2012 Olympic Games, the company will provide 170 ConnectKey MFPs and desktop printers during the multi-sport event, which takes place from the 2nd to the 12th of August.
According to Inside The Games, its participation will allow the printing of competition details, news, and results, and will also see it provide technical support on-site.
“The Glasgow 2018 European Championships is a world first event which requires all of our staff and offices to operate to the very highest standards,” said Colin Hartley, Glasgow 2018 championship director. “We look forward to working with Xerox and all of our sponsors to deliver a sporting and cultural event which will make Scotland proud.”
Glasgow 2018 will feature over 3,000 athletes in six sports (aquatics, gymnastics, cycling, rowing, triathlon, and golf), with a separate athletics event taking place in Berlin.
Managing director at Xerox UK and Ireland Andrew Morrison said: “The Glasgow 2018 event will be spread out over a number of different competition and hospitality locations, making it vital that the right documents get to the right people at the right time,” explained Andrew Morrison, Xerox UK and Ireland’s Managing Director. “We’re looking forward to contributing to the smooth running and reporting of Glasgow 2018 and are confident that our easy to use, secure solutions will ensure a seamless printing and scanning experience for all staff.”
