Xerox becomes sole Deutsche Bahn MPS provider

September 20, 2022

Xerox and Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) have signed a new service framework agreement for the management of the multifunctional printing infrastructure.

The multi-year contract came into effect on 1 August 2022 and includes an extensive product range of A4 printing systems, plotters and label printers. Xerox was able to succeed in an EU-wide tender.

Deutsche Bahn has been using Xerox multifunction printers since 2011. In 2018, the partnership was greatly expanded with two major projects in the areas of production printing and A3 multifunction printers/floor copiers.

With this further framework agreement, Xerox and Deutsche Bahn are intensifying their cooperation, the company said. As the sole provider, Xerox is responsible for providing printing solutions at both German and international locations.

More than 330,000 Deutsche Bahn employees benefit from this Xerox service contract.

Thorsten Budzinski, Managing Director at Xerox, was delighted with the renewed contract with such a long-term and important partner as Deutsche Bahn and sees many opportunities for cooperation in the future: “The award of the new framework contract to Xerox is the result of our successful and trusting cooperation with Deutsche Bahn and our high delivery quality. We have always uncompromisingly pursued Xerox’s goal of inspiring our customers with innovative products and services in our more than ten-year partnership with Deutsche Bahn.”

The management of DB Kommunikationstechnik GmbH said it is pleased to be able to expand the successful business relationship with Xerox to include another product segment.

“With Xerox we have a competent and experienced partner in the field of printing, with whose support we will implement modern managed print services within Deutsche Bahn AG. We look forward to a successful cooperation,” added Alexander Mundorf, Managing Director of DB KT.

“My team and I are pleased about this trust and look forward to future developments in further, additional areas with confidence. I see digital services in output management, 3D printing of spare parts via ElemX or the optimization of service processes through CareAR as strategic added value.” said Oliver Lenz, Large Account Manager at Xerox and responsible contact person for DB.

“We look forward to further developing the long-standing, partnership-based and successful cooperation with Xerox,” commented Simon Löbs and Patrick Leibold, Heads and Product Owners of Managed Print Services. “With the solutions from Xerox, DB Kommunikationstechnik provides its employees in Germany and abroad with a digital, future-oriented print infrastructure.”
