Visual Edge Technology acquires Dunn’s
July 10, 2018
Gaylord-based Dunn’s Business Solutions, of Michigan, has become the 30th office equipment business acquired by the Ohio company.
Dunn’s, which first opened in 1978, provides businesses in Northern Michigan with “state-of-the-art” multifunctional equipment, office furniture, supplies, and workflow solutions, and prides itself on being “independent and female-owned.”
“We are a company rooted in our community. Customer satisfaction is and has always been most important to us,” explains Dunn’s president, Theresa McNamara, who has been at the helm since 1990, and who took the decision to seek a purchase from Visual Edge after considering her upcoming retirement. “Their model is exactly what I was looking for—a company that would continue to take care of my employees and my customers, and maybe even do better than I could. I want to see my legacy continue.”
After McNamara gives way, Dunn’s will be led by Danny Brady, a friend of McNamara and the president of another Michigan-based Visual Edge-owned subsidiary, Brady’s Business Systems. Otherwise, it will be “business as usual,” McNamara declared: “The same faces, the same products, the same great service. We hope to add new services and products to increase our customers’ efficiency. That has always been our number one goal.”
Both Dunn’s and Brady’s, which Visual Edge acquired in January of this year, are authorised Kyocera resellers, with Brady also bringing expertise of MPS, document management, and managed IT solutions to Dunn’s.
“In a rapidly growing dealer community, it is extremely important for dealers to operate from a stronger competitive position, while remaining independent, within the Visual Edge Technology family,” said Brady.
