Virtulytix and TaaScom partner to deliver HOPS
August 11, 2020
In July, Virtulytix and TaaScom announced the launch of Home Office Printing System or HOPS, a collaboration to address the shift in printing from the ‘enterprise’ to home offices as a result of COVID-19 and the significant shift to home offices.
The partnership combines the TaaScom as-a-Service cloud infrastructure with Virtulytix’s SuppliesIQ to enable monitoring of home office printers/MFPs, just-in-time fulfillment of supplies, and integrated cost management and reporting.
Virtulytix explained that the new Home Office Printing System (HOPS) allows enterprises to avoid out-of-control costs from personal printing, by leverage existing relationships and contracts with Managed Print Service (MPS) service providers to ensure cost effective printing, and providing the home office user with an easy, seamless way to have home office printing without dealing with supplies procurement or printer management.
According to Ed Crowley, “HOPS is significant in that it effectively delivers Managed Print Services to the home office in a way that has not been possible before. We have designed this system to fit into the existing infrastructure for MPS providers including OEMs, supplies distributors, and dealers”.
“By leveraging our as-a-Service cloud platform, HOPS is the print-as-a-Service servitization of the printing business, now delivered to the remote office team,” said Ranga Raj, CEO of TaaScom. “Our clients can be assured that their employees can access the same print capabilities while at office, and our monitoring, alerting, and messaging capabilities allow for seamless supply fulfilment, avoiding any downtime or out-of-protocol spend.”
