USITC issues new seizure order
December 20, 2018
Following the orders handed out in April and May 2018 on behalf of HP, the USITC has now released another seizure and forfeiture order for the OEM due to the violation of a general exclusion order.
Issued on 14 December 2018, the seizure and forfeiture order is part of USITC Investigation No. 337-TA-723.
It regards inkjet ink cartridges with printheads and components that were imported to the USA by Inkjet Office Supply of San Jose, California.
These products, which violate a general exclusion order, were denied entry to the country by Customs, which then informed the Commission of the violating items, prompting the issuance of the seizure and forfeiture order.
The order was sent on to The Honourable Steven T. Mnuchin, Secretary of the Treasury, by Lisa R. Barton, Secretary to the Commission, on the same date it was issued.
