Portland Community College and Pacific Office Automation launched a US-based technician training initiative.
Pacific Office Automation (POA) has joined forces with Portland Community College (PCC) in the United States to launch a new Field Service Technician Foundations programme starting in the autumn of 2024.
This 12-week course is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled technicians in the U.S., where the field service industry is expected to grow by 6% by 2032. The programme offers comprehensive equipment installation, troubleshooting, and customer service training tailored to industry needs with POA’s input.
A key aspect of this U.S.-centric initiative is the promise of a guaranteed job interview with POA for all students who successfully complete the program, along with full tuition reimbursement for those hired.
This partnership is part of a broader trend in the United States, where educational institutions and industries collaborate to address skills shortages and prepare students for in-demand careers.
POA’s investment in this programme highlights the importance of building a skilled workforce in the U.S. and reflects its commitment to maintaining a steady pipeline of qualified technicians. The programme not only supports U.S. students entering the workforce but also reinforces the critical role that vocational training plays in meeting the evolving needs of American industries.
