May 6, 2020
Results from the latest British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Coronavirus Business Impact Tracker reveal the vast majority of firms surveyed say they will require three weeks or less to prepare to restart operations alongside any loosening of the UK lockdown.
More than half of all UK businesses could be up and running in less than a week, business owners have said in the latest BCC survey that was conducted between April 29 – May 1.
Small businesses throughout the country are at the heart of government’s long term economic plan. The BCC said “Smaller businesses may be able to restart operations more quickly. Almost two-thirds (64 per cent) of respondents employing fewer than 10 people say they would need less than one week, compared to half (50 per cent) of respondents with more than 50 employees.”

The UK government has admitted meeting recycling targets during coronavirus lockdown will be difficult, UK remanufacturer ECS encourages a continued commitment to circularity and they are still very much open for business, including both of their remanufacturing and recycling facilities.
ECS’ Director Chris Fink added: “Despite many businesses suffering at this moment in time, it’s vital as a remanufacturer and recycler that we don’t forget our values and everything that the remanufacturing industry stands for. Maintaining our commitment to a circular economy is extremely important during these times, and as such, our recycling service will continue to be available to all Partners of ECS across the UK.
