Toshiba Tec first half year sales increase YoY

The company has released its consolidated business results for the first half of fiscal year 2022.
Toshiba Tec recorded net sales of ¥243.9 billion (1.66 billion/ €1.67 billion), an increase of ¥26.9 billion ($184 million/ €185 million) year-on-year (YoY). The second quarter net sales were recorded as ¥134.6 billion ($919 million/ €924 million), an increase of ¥24.7 billion ($168 million/ €169 million) year-on-year.
The Workplace Solutions Business Group, which handles Toshiba’s range of MFPs was impacted by supply issues and soaring prices in components and international cargo transportation costs.
In the six months ended 30 September 2022, sales of MFPs increased due to the impact of foreign exchange rates and other factors, resulting in increased net sales of 12%, year-on-year.
In light of the first half results of the fiscal year 2022, Toshiba Tec revised its full year forecast upwards, now expecting full year net sales to be around ¥520 billion ($3.4 billion/ €3.4 billion), ¥70 billion ($478 million/ €481 million) more than previously forecast.
