Time called on Product Pilot
March 26, 2019
Messe Frankfurt has announced it is closing its online supplier portal, productpilot.com, at the end of this week.
Product Pilot sought to “showcase companies, products and users, with the aim of matching supply and demand”, with the platform featuring more than 21,000 companies and trade show exhibitors, as well as over 120,000 products.
The company is now emailing businesses that maintain a presence on product portal, informing them of the service’s imminent closure, and imploring them to save any relevant data, such as contacts or message histories, by 29 March, the date of closure.
Explaining the closure, Messe Frankfurt said it was “increasingly focusing on its primary platform, www.messefrankfurt.com, and its event apps.” It added, however, that it would be migrating “all the popular features of productpilot.com” to the main platform, and reassured exhibitors that their presentation on Messe Frankfurt event websites will remain unchanged.
“The features are available to you when you sign in using your existing trade fair login data,” Messe Frankfurt elaborated, revealing that business can still “find contacts and get in touch with potential business partners,” and “discover new products and trends in your industry.”
A business matching feature is also available for some selected events.
Messe Frankfurt thanked all who have used Product Pilot over the years, and said it “looks forward to continuing to offer you a multitude of services on the event websites, which will continue to successfully support your business in the future.”
