Three arrested for counterfeiting

Indian police have arrested three people on suspicion of selling counterfeit inkjet cartridges.
Outlook India reports that three persons were arrested on suspicion of selling fake printer ink cartridges “under popular brand names”. The people were based in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, India.
The report explained that “acting on a tip-off, the local crime branch raided a shop in Nala Sopara (…)”, where it seized the alleged cartridges which are said to be worth Rs 99 lakh ($135,332/ € 121,362).
The three people named in this case were Yakub Ibrahim Shaikh (28), Rahul Sanda (30) and Narayan Chabia (33).
The police opened an investigation under the relevant sections of the Copyright Act of 1997 and have filed a case against the accused at Tulinj police station.
