The Recycler’s Owen marks a milestone
October 9, 2018
It has been an enjoyable and educational year for Owen Collins, who is celebrating his first anniversary as editorial assistant at The Recycler.
A year ago today, performance poet, part-time playwright and staunch Liverpool fan, Owen Collins, first began working as full-time editorial assistant at The Recycler.
When asked to describe his highly successful first year at the magazine, Owen says, “I’ve really enjoyed my first year at The Recycler, especially the chance to meet so many faces from across the industry in both Frankfurt and Budapest.”
He continues, “I feel like I’ve learned a lot in the last twelve months and am continuing to do so as I go along, and I’ve particularly enjoyed the chance to delve deeper into important issues for both the industry and the planet, such as the ongoing plastic waste pandemic.”
Looking to the future, Owen comments, “Whilst the year hasn’t been without its challenges (such as trying to get to grips with blockchain, for the benefit of our readers!) I’m very pleased to still be here, and am looking forward to many more challenges to come, beginning in Frankfurt in January!”
“It has been a real pleasure to have Owen join our team,” states The Recycler’s Managing Editor, Stefanie Unland. “During the course of the past year, he has brought dedication in spades to his role at the magazine, as well as determination, an excellent sense of humour and an ever-present eagerness to learn more about the industry. I am excited to see what the future holds for Owen and wish him a very successful tenure at our magazine.”
