The Recycler Live – Navigating future trends

Industry experts gather to discuss innovations and regulatory challenges in the printer consumables market.

In two weeks, The Recycler Live Conference kicks off with a full programme at the Martins Hotel in Brussels this coming 15 – 16 of May. The programme is focused on the printer consumables business, addressing current challenges and forecasting future trends. This event promises insights and a deep dive into various facets of the industry—from the resilience of Ukrainian businesses amid war to innovative approaches in hardware reuse and remanufacturing to the evolving regulatory landscape impacting global markets.

Speakers such as Elena Sergienko, José Ángel Muñoz, and Vincent van Dijk, among others, will provide valuable insights and strategies, shaping discussions that will guide attendees through the complexities and opportunities of today’s and tomorrow’s market. Additionally, the conference will soon announce its keynote speaker, further enhancing the line up with another influential voice in the industry.

Kicking off the conference, Elena Sergienko, Head of the Export Department at VM Group, will discuss how her company continues to thrive despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. In her upcoming presentation, Sergienko will share first hand experiences of supporting a dealer network operating under extreme conditions, such as rocket attacks and power outages, highlighting the resilience and tenacity required to maintain business operations in such an environment.

José Ángel Muñoz, COO of GM Technology, will explore the potential and challenges of hardware reuse in the European market. His presentation will focus on the environmental and economic benefits of repurposing electronic components, offering insights into how the market could evolve in the coming years and the strategic advantages of adopting sustainable practices.

Karolina Wrze?niak-Cwyl from Biuromax will delve into the intricacies of remanufacturing components and spare parts. She will discuss the ongoing challenges such as a shortage of skilled technicians and the impact of EU regulations like the Right to Repair. Her session aims to highlight the importance of enhancing technician training and adapting to regulatory pressures to sustain growth and sustainability in the sector.

Representatives from Hewlett Packard Inc., Steve Castle and Daniel Chappel, will present HP’s latest innovations in remanufacturing. Be there to find out more.

On the legislation front, Vincent van Dijk, Secretary General of ETIRA, will offer a forecast of legislative changes that are poised to impact the remanufacturing industry. His presentation will provide strategic responses and adaptability tactics for businesses to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring they remain competitive and compliant.

Meanwhile, Volker Kappius, CEO of Delacamp, is scheduled to discuss how evolving regulations in Europe and the U.S. are reshaping the imaging consumables landscape. He will address the challenges and opportunities arising from these changes, focusing on the aftermarket chip industry and the strategic implications for market players.

Javier Martinez, President of ETIRA, will provide a comprehensive overview of the printer cartridge market’s regulatory and compliance landscape as it stands today and project into the first quarter of 2025. His session will outline anticipated changes and developments that could influence industry standards and practices.

The first day’s programme will conclude with our keynote presentation and a round table discussion.

Day two begins with Charlie Brewer, Founder of Actionable Intelligence, will present a detailed analysis of OEM remanufacturing practices. His session will include a SWOT analysis and offer predictive insights into future trends, focusing on sustainability and technological advancements in remanufacturing.

Following on, Jason Doran from Guangzhou Zhono Microelectronics will share insights into the 2023 printing industry trends in Europe. His presentation will emphasise the importance of embracing change and innovation to ensure mutual prosperity in the evolving market landscape.

Deborah Hawkins and Peter Mayhew from Keypoint Intelligence will discuss the dramatic shifts in work environments and their impact on the printing industry. Based on the latest research, their talk will examine how businesses can adapt to the changing needs of a digital and increasingly remote workforce.

Our final presentation is by David Connett, Partner at Connett & Unland GbR. He will explore the new-build printer cartridge market in Europe, focusing on environmental compliance and market dynamics shaped by recent global events. His session will discuss the strategic adjustments needed to navigate upcoming legislation and market expectations, emphasising innovation and sustainability.

This conference promises to be a comprehensive forum where industry leaders and specialists will share their visions and strategies for navigating the complex landscape of the printer consumables industry.
