The Epson Expression Home XP-442 inkjet printer has been on the market for several years and remains a popular printer that continues to sell well online with Tonerdumping.de currently offering a €20 ($22) discount and retailing the printer at €79.99 ($90.55).
The popular 3-in-1 inkjet printer is targeted at the home market and has a small, space saving footprint, is mobile friendly and uses individual ink tanks.
Versatile printing
A good feature is the mobile printing using Epson’s iPrint app can be downloaded to a range of devices for truly wireless printing and scanning. On the go you can use Epson Email Print by simply emailing documents and photos directly to the printer. And you don’t need to be connected to a PC, simply slot in a memory card and use the large 6.8cm colour LCD screen and helpful menu prompts to print your photos without a PC.
Key Features
- Small-in-one: Save space, money and time
- Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct: Wireless printing with or without a network
- Mobile printing: Freedom to print and scan from almost anywhere1
- 8cm colour LCD screen: For copying, scanning and PC-free printing from a memory card
Downside
The printer is part of Epson’s readyink programme and if users sign up they may find they are paying more for replacement inks than they need to because other inks are available.
Duplexing – A bit cheeky here. Epson achieve the sleek design by not incorporating automatic duplexing into the printer. They describe duplexing as manual, as in turn the page over and put it back in the printer.
Our view 7/10
It’s cheap, has a small footprint and the mobile printing options are better than other brands in the home market segment. Other, lower cost inks are available, but the downside is the lack of automatic duplexing.
