A LinkedIn post from Australian print specialist QPC uses a talking AI baby to deliver a blunt message about the true cost of cheap printers.
Australian-based QPC, a specialist in managed print services and consumables, has taken a swipe at cheap retail printers in a recent LinkedIn post.
Lisa Spark, appearing in the company’s latest Radio Tech Talk episode, used an AI-generated talking baby head to deliver the message. It’s a memorable format—if not to everyone’s taste.
“We’ve all fallen for it—that so-called bargain printer that ends up costing way more in the long run,” Spark said. The short clip pulls no punches:
💸 “Ink that runs out in a blink.”
💥 “Cartridges that cost more than the printer.”
😵💫 “And a tech setup that’s more stress than solution.”
From our side, we think the Talking Baby is a clever use of generative AI to get a point across—though no doubt someone will complain about “exploiting an AI baby” rather than the message itself.
QPC’s wider message is one many in the industry will recognise: that smart businesses look beyond the sticker price and invest in reliability, support and total cost of ownership.
