Earlier this month, Static Control donated 25 used HP laptops to Lee County Schools. This donation was made to help provide computer access to children in the area who otherwise wouldn’t have access to a computer during the coronavirus.
Superintendent for Lee County Schools Andy Bryant said: “As we have transitioned to online learning, computers for our students and teachers have obviously been a critical component of the programme. We are grateful to Static Control for their donation which allows us to increase our inventory for the laptop check-out programme.”
All schools in North Carolina have been closed since March 16. Lee County Schools has distributed more than 1,900 laptops to students in Grades 3 through 12 who need devices to continue their learning during school closures.
“Lee County Schools has done an amazing job with helping students stay in contact with their school community during the pandemic. We admire what they are doing to keep children engaged and learning, even in the most difficult of situations,” said Static Control CEO Ken Lalley. “We know that access to technology is a key factor for students to participate with online classes during this time and we are happy to help.”
