Static Control chips beat the latest Lexmark firmware update

The recently released firmware update by Lexmark will not impact Static Control’s replacement chips.

Static Control’s replacement chips for the popular Lexmark MS/MX 310, 410, 510, 610, 710, 711, 810, 811, 812 and MS/MX 317, 417, 517, 617, 717, 718, 817, 818 series are not impacted by the recent firmware update released by Lexmark on 5 March 2020.

The new firmware version LW75.PRL.P043, has been seen in the market and has been reported to stop third-party supplies from working.

Static Control said in its customer release: “In general, Static Control encourages customers to avoid printer firmware upgrades which can potentially “lock out” aftermarket cartridges. Static Control’s chips are designed and engineered to be most resistant to firmware changes.”
