Static chips work after latest HP update

Static Control has confirmed they have started shipping replacement chips that work after the latest firmware update that HP has issued.

Earlier this month The Recycler reported about HP’s latest firmware update affecting HP 903xl and 953xl cartridges.

The updates in question are:

  • HP 903xl = MCP2CN2006BR
  • HP 953xl = ELLISXLP1N003.2007A.00

If automatic updates were enabled, cartridges already installed in the printer are not affected, but when a user comes to exchange the cartridges, the printer will not recognise the cartridges.

The Ninestar Group has been very proactive on this firmware update and Apex had a solution available within a day of the firmware update coming out. Static also confirmed that their replacement chips for the above models are available, are being shipped and work after this latest update.
