Skip London achieves diamond standard
November 5, 2018
Static Control’s long-time General Counsel William “Skip” London received the Diamond Pioneering Award at a recent industry awards ceremony held in Zhuhai, China.
The award was given to him in recognition of London’s continual fight for the aftermarket in courthouses around the world.
“For almost thirty years, Skip has worked tirelessly as an advocate for the imaging industry aftermarket. His work, under the auspices of Static Control and on behalf of the Int’l ITC and its members, went unheralded. He was the unsung hero of the aftermarket, and that never slowed him down,” said Tricia Judge, Executive Director of the International ITC and one of the judges of the award.
“Skip’s command of the industry’s many complicated legal issues has led to so many industry successes. When they established the Diamond Pioneering Award for an industry leader, I immediately thought of Skip, and I nominated him. Apparently, many other smart people in the industry knew about Skip’s dedication, and he won this very special award. Skip deserves all the accolades but would be the first one to defer them to someone else. He is an industry pioneer and has always been there when the industry needed him and his razor-sharp legal mind. Art Diamond would wholeheartedly agree that Skip deserves this award.”
“I first entered the aftermarket in 1991 representing Static Control. In those years, Static Control has been involved in cases that mattered not just to Static Control but to the aftermarket as whole. I’m proud of the aftermarket’s right to exist,” said London in his acceptance speech. “While the people and cases change through the years, one thing has remained constant – the aftermarket’s ability to adapt and change.”
