Sharp releases latest consolidated financial results

While net sales and profits decreased year-on-year, profits improved significantly from the second half of fiscal 2022.
During the first half of fiscal year 2023, net sales were ¥1,158.2 billion ($7.7 billion/ €7.2 billion), down 7.9% year-on-year. Operating profit was -¥5.8 billion (-$38.5 million/ -€36 million) an improvement from the second half of fiscal 2022 where operating profit ended up being -¥26.7 billion (-$177 million/ -€166 million).
Sales for its Smart Office segment that includes its MFPs, were down 3.7% year-on-year at ¥271.4 billion ($1.8 billion/ €1.69 billion). Operating office was up a massive 291.1% year—on-year at ¥9.9 billion ($65.66 million/ €61.5 million). Sharp said its MFP business and office solution business remained strong, especially in Europe and the U.S.
Due to the performance being in line with expectations, Sharp has left the forecasts unchanged.
