Sharp celebrates 108th anniversary

Sharp’s chairman and CEO, J.W. Tai released a note to express his appreciation to all stakeholders in light of the company’s 108th anniversary celebrations.
In his note to stakeholders, Tai talks about the company has been promoting transformation and business innovation since the company changed its system in August 2016. He continues to explain how Sharp has transformed from its existing business such as TVs, home appliances, smartphones, and office equipment etc., to developing 8K devices and technology and AIoT devices.
Tai said: “With such activities, our business is developing from stand-alone hardware and devices centric business to systems and solutions business fusing hardware, software and services.”
The note explains how Sharp will be further strengthening its activities in the Health, Education, Security, Industry and Automotive fields, emphasising that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company will concentrate development in the Health, Medical, and Nursing fields.
“Through our business activities in these fields, we will provide new and unique added-values to our customers, and contribute to the society for Realization of our Business Vision.
Upon celebrating our 108th anniversary on 15 September, Sharp will announce new products, services, and technologies for the next two weeks, one after another. In addition, we will expand our range of online and offline contents on display at our showrooms, and rapidly develop campaigns and events related to our 108th anniversary heading toward the end of the year,” Tai added.
