Sapi’s Sara Ferreri backs circular economy at Brianza

February 4, 2025

The circular economy is reshaping printing. At Brianza Restart, Sara Ferreri urged industry leaders to embrace reuse over wasteful single-use models, reinforcing Sapi’s sustainability-driven mission.

At the recent Brianza Restart event, Sara Ferreri, Key Account Manager at Sapi, underscored the importance of the circular economy in the printing sector. Representing one of Europe’s leading remanufacturers of printer consumables and hardware, Ferreri highlighted the growing momentum behind sustainability, urging businesses and policymakers to embrace reuse over single-use models.

Organised by the Province of Monza and Brianza, the event gathered key industry players to discuss strategies for a more sustainable future. Ferreri’s participation reinforced Sapi’s position at the forefront of the remanufacturing industry, advocating for policies that promote responsible production and reuse.

During her address, Ferreri emphasised that forthcoming European regulations will push the market towards greater sustainability. She explained that these legislative changes will prioritise reuse and remanufacturing, challenging business models that rely on disposable products. This shift aligns closely with Sapi’s mission and that of ETIRA (European Toner & Inkjet Remanufacturers Association), which continues to campaign against wasteful practices in the imaging consumables industry.

She also noted that the European Union is taking decisive steps to reduce the prevalence of single-use products, helping to cut down on unnecessary waste. The transition towards a circular economy presents not only an environmental necessity but also a commercial opportunity for businesses willing to innovate.

The event featured contributions from several major organisations, including Assolombarda, Sapio Group, STMicroelectronics Italia, Agrati Group, and Caimi Brevetti. Each showcased their commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing, demonstrating how businesses across multiple sectors are responding to the sustainability imperative.

Ferreri’s participation at Brianza Restart underlines Sapi’s role as a leader in circular economy solutions for the imaging industry. As European regulations tighten, companies that invest in remanufacturing and sustainable production will be well positioned to meet new compliance standards and support a greener future.

The message from the event was clear: the path to sustainability is set, and businesses must adapt or be left behind. With its deep expertise in remanufacturing and its commitment to reducing waste, Sapi remains a key player in driving this transformation forward.
