Sapi Srl celebrates quarter century
September 17, 2018
The toner recycler is marking its twenty-fifth year in business in 2018, with the official anniversary falling last week.
Having started production in September 1993, Sapi has been constantly evolving and improving over the intervening years. The company describes itself as commited to research, whilst maintaining a “careful eye” on the evolution of technologies. It is this that has helped the company “distinguish itself from others,” with Sapi adding that as well as its quality, it has also reached “the upper steps of the market; Sapi is now, in fact, among the top ten producers of remanufactured cartridges in Europe.”
The company’s management team boasts many years of experience across various multinational companies. Headquartered in Lombardy, Italy, since its foundation, Sapi states that it “tried to make our Italian style a symbol of pride, favouring local labour and producing everything in-house, despite the great difficulties of the aftermarket.”
It views its continued success over the last twenty-five years as “the result of conscious choice on behalf of the owners, who believe in the need for a healthy, comfortable, and rewarding environment to work well in, and who, starting in ’93 from a small office and a staff of 3 people, have arrived at the point of having more than 3000 square metres of production area, warehouse and offices, and over 40 employees.”
Since its establishment, Sapi’s goals have including “developing a productive activity aimed at achieving economic results” whilst respecting environmental protection and consumer satisfaction, and “offering the possibility of using products with low environmental impact” whilst maintaining high quality and low cost, compared to OEM products.
Remaining aware of “the importance of adopting a responsible behaviour” with regards to the environment, Sapi focuses on the recovery of materials from waste, in the process “assuming a prominent role in the waste disposal processes of our society.” The goal is to reduce both the quantity of waste going to landfill, and the devastating environmental impact of such disposal. This is linked to its goal of “maximising production, and consequently increasing the amount of recovered materials, and thereboy contributing to the preservation of natural resources.”
“Thanks to our activities, we reuse over 300 truckloads of waste material,” the company adds.
In 2009, the company opened a new subsidiary, Sapi Service, operating in the MPS market; Sapi Service has designed its over software, integrating maintenance and reuse of printers, and which allows the customers to reduce both the financial and environmental cost of printing.
Five years ago, it began a partnership with a German company to successfully start a trading online company of new OEM products, whilst between 2015 and 2016, it undertook yet another new venture, starting business with copier cartridges material development.
At the beginning of this year, it branched out further into copier and printer refurbishment. After twenty-five years, the company remains intent on constantly “moving forward.”
