December 12, 2023
Riso Kagaku’s ComColor FT1430 Printer was archived due to noncompliance with crucial European RoHS environmental safety standards.
Printer OEM Riso Kagaku Corporation has recently faced nonconformance issues with the European RoHS Directive. This issue was highlighted in the “EPEAT Program Continuous Monitoring Outcomes Report – Imaging Equipment IE-2023-01,” released by the Global Electronics Council.
The non compliance specifically involves the Riso ComColor FT1430 Printer, a product of Riso Kagaku Corporation. According to the report, this nonconformance was identified under Criterion 4.1.1.1, which mandates compliance with the European RoHS Directive. This directive plays a crucial role in regulating the use of hazardous substances in electronic equipment, aiming to protect human health and the environment from potential risks associated with such materials.
The RoHS, or Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, is a crucial regulation for electronics manufacturers, focusing on minimizing the impact of dangerous substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium in electronic devices.
The Certification Body (CAB) has archived the Riso ComColor FT1430 Printer from the EPEAT Registry as a corrective measure. This action is a standard procedure to address noncompliance issues, ensuring that the registry maintains its integrity by listing only those products that fulfil the required environmental criteria
