Ricoh takes over Data Vision

September 2, 2020

The company becomes one of the largest AV and workplace integrators in Europe through the acquisition of Data Vision.

Ricoh strengthens its conference room technology offering, workplaces and digital collaboration through the takeover of Data Vision. Data Vision was founded in 1995 and is a leading integrator for audio visual (AV) and conference room and workstation technologies. Data Vision has 100 employees and is represented through its eight service- and sales locations across Germany.

The head office is in Düsseldorf. Data Vision specialises in the conception and integration of modern conference room and workplace solutions, including Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC), Audio visual Technologies (AV) and solutions for workplace and meeting room management. The company has over 1,300 customers and looks after 15 of the 30 DAX companies in Germany as well as numerous large ministries.

Data Vision customers will benefit from the global reach, the financial strength and the integrated service infrastructure from Ricoh, Data Vision said. They will also get access to the products and solutions from the Communication Services portfolio and other business areas from Ricoh, such as Managed Document Services, IT Services, Business Process Services or Production Printing Services.

Edward Hamilton, Vice President Communication Services, Ricoh Europe, said: “The were a number of factors that were decisive in the decision to take over Data Vision. These include their leading market position, their extensive expertise and experience as well as our common synergies with regard to our customer base, our corporate culture and our strategy. This acquisition creates a strong foundation for our further growth in Europe and forms a supporting pillar within our change to one Digital Services company. Most importantly, it will still help our customers to support them more effectively in their own digital transformation.”

David Mills, CEO, Ricoh Europe, said: “This step represents a significant development for the market and an important expansion for our Communication Services division, both in Germany and at European level. It is crucial that we offer our customers solutions for an even better cooperation to provide intelligent and safe workplaces.”

Data Vision will continue under its existing company name – Data Vision Deutschland GmbH – as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ricoh.

Jochen Roggenkämper, Managing Director of Data Vision said: “We are excited and very happy for the future. The global reach and infrastructure, as well as the vast experience of Ricoh in the end-to-end implementation of managed services, combined with our experience and expertise in the areas of AV, UCC and workplace management ensure that we can serve our customers in Germany and Europe even better and more comprehensively when it comes to integrating solutions for modern and collaborative working environments.
