The OEM has been handed the Best Veteran Hiring Award by the Coalition for Government Procurement.
Ricoh USA, Inc. has announced that the company has received the Best Veteran Hiring Award as part of the Coalition for Government Procurement’s annual Excellence in Partnership Awards. This recognition honoured Ricoh’s work promoting and executing “a robust and successful veteran hiring” program.
Ricoh recruiters and hiring managers typically attend several military-focused career fairs each month, including events hosted by the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes, Military Installation Transition Summits hosted by the DoD Transition Assistance Program (TAP), events hosted in collaboration with the Veterans Affairs offices, as well as Recruit Military, and Military Mojo events. Ricoh has served as the title sponsor of a bi-annual virtual career fair through CareerEco, which targets student veterans who are currently attending universities and colleges across the country, in addition to being one of the sponsors of the Student Veterans of America (SVA) annual conference. Beyond aiding the transition of service men and women back into civilian life via recruiting and hiring, many of these Ricoh-supported organisations actively lobby for veteran support initiatives, such as education access for post-9/11 veterans and the “Forever” G.I. Bill.
The Excellence in Partnership award comes soon after Ricoh’s Diversity and Social Responsibility Council was ranked among the top 20 nationwide, thanks in large part to its veteran outreach. Among the statistics cited in that award application is a 103 percent year-over-year increase in veteran hiring.
“Those who serve the public give so much: their time, their efforts and, in some cases, their lives,” said Donna Venable, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Deputy General Manager, Shared Services, Ricoh Americas. “Ricoh is glad to be making demonstrable progress in better serving those who serve all of us, and we are honoured to be receiving these recognitions for our efforts. We are humbled to be recognised for our efforts to pay back, in some small way, the sacrifice our brave people in uniform make.”
