January 11, 2022
Ricoh customers in Portugal are set to benefit from more comprehensive digital transformation capabilities following the company’s acquisition of Pamafe.
Headquartered in Porto and founded in 1998, Pamafe is a Portuguese digital services company with primary expertise in managed services, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity. The acquisition gives Ricoh customers access to these specific local capabilities, while Pamafe customers can make use of Ricoh’s broad range of digital services capabilities.
Ricoh confirmed that Pamafe will continue to operate as an individual entity, with all employees remaining in post.
Ramon Martin, CEO, Ricoh Portugal & Spain, said: “This acquisition is a genuine game changer in the Portuguese market and fits perfectly with Ricoh’s strategy to reaffirm its position as a digital services company. Crucially for our customers, it allows us to establish a European hub for cloud transition and cybersecurity services – core requirements for our customers as they continue to advance on their respective digital transformation journeys.”
The announcement follows Ricoh’s 2019 acquisition of TotalStor, a Portuguese company based in Lisbon, thus building further on existing local capabilities.
Alberto Mariani, Senior Vice President, Digital Innovation, Ricoh Europe, added: “Hybrid working patterns, evolving infrastructure requirements, and emerging threats bring both complex and pressing challenges. That’s why the need for seamless cloud transition, robust cybersecurity, and dependable managed services will remain pivotal for business leaders. This exciting acquisition enables our Portuguese customers to have complete peace of mind as they advance further into the digital age. It is also a move that positions Ricoh as a leader in the Portuguese cloud and cybersecurity markets.”
