Revenue rises for Kyocera

The OEM has revealed its latest financial results for Q1 of the current financial year (ending June the 30th), with rises in both revenue and profits.
Kyocera’s sales revenue for the period reached ¥387.4 billion ($3.47 billion/€2.99 billion), a 12.3 percent increase on the total from same period last year, which was ¥345.1 billion ($3.09 billion/€2.66 billion).
The OEM’s operating profit also increased, by 18.7 percent, climbing from ¥31.2 billion ($279.8 million/€240.9 million) to ¥37.1 billion ($332.8 million/€286.5 million). There was comparable good news with the company’s profit before income taxes, which rose 12.4 percent to ¥55.4 billion ($496.9 million/€427.8 million), up from ¥49.3 billion ($442.2 million/€380.7 million) in 2017.
There was an even bigger rise in Kyocera’s comprehensive income for Q1, reaching ¥127.1 billion ($1.14 billion/€981.4 million), up 121.1 percent from last year’s figure of ¥57.5 billion ($515.8 million/€444 million).
In the OEM’s Document Solutions segment, Kyocera saw sales of ¥88.7 billion ($795.6 million/€684.8 million), up from ¥80.9 billion ($725.6 million/€624.6 million), a rise of 9.7 percent.
Business profit for the period in the Document Solutions segment was ¥10.3 billion ($92.3 million/€79.5 million), up 13 percent from the total of ¥9.1 billion ($81.6 million/€70.2 million) in the equivalent quarter last year.
