The Recycler Live Conference opens today in Tallinn, bringing together remanufacturers, resellers, suppliers, experts and industry stakeholders from across Europe and beyond. This is the first time the event has taken place in the Baltic region and follows previous editions in cities including Prague, Brussels and Barcelona.
With a strong focus on sustainability, compliance and the changing dynamics of the imaging sector, today’s programme features presentations and panel sessions addressing the key issues affecting the industry. The day begins with a session from Zhono’s Jason Doran, exploring chip barriers to circular partnerships and how chip technology impacts repair, reuse and remanufacturing in Europe.
Keypoint Intelligence follows with a presentation titled Why did they print that?, looking at who prints what, and why, in today’s changing market — and announcing a new testing service for remanufacturers. Connett & Unland’s David Connett then outlines a future vision in Purposeful print: Thriving in a leaner, smarter 2030s, before Ricoh’s Richard Catley and Brother’s Juan Carot present their companies’ approaches to circularity and global remanufacturing.
After lunch, Jan de Kesel introduces 2CLIX and the Digital Product Passport, a practical solution to upcoming regulatory requirements. ETIRA Secretary General Vincent van Dijk follows with Brussels’ Beat, giving an overview of the latest EU policy developments, including Ecodesign, anti-greenwashing legislation, and fair access proposals.
Javier Martínez, President of ETIRA, leads the afternoon workshop on market risks and compliance. Drawing on real-world examples, the session explores obligations under WEEE, REACH, ESPR and other regulations. The day concludes with an open roundtable for questions and discussion.
The ETIRA AGM takes place immediately after the canfernece last session and is open to members only.
Delegates will regroup this evening for the networking dinner and the return of The Recycler Live Awards. Forgot to vote? Sorry, but voting has now closed, better luck next year?
Live updates from the event will follow across the week. The final day, Thursday, features the Trade Day — a chance for delegates to meet suppliers, explore new products and services, and make fresh business connections.
Interestingly, we used AI to search our archives and discovered this is the 86th event hosted by The Recycler since the very first one in London nearly three decades ago. From trade shows and conferences to workshops and awards, each event has brought the industry together to share knowledge, ideas, and progress.
