PrintReleaf branches out into Japan
April 23, 2020
Gunma Paz University has decided to reduce their printing impact on the environment with PrintReleaf, provided by their Japan-based managed print services provider, Cosy.
The private University, located in Takasaki, Gunma, Japan is the first ever PrintReleaf customer in Japan. Using PrintReleaf’s cloud-based software, provided by their managed print services provider, COSY Inc., Gunma Paz University’s paper footprint will be automatically calculated and reforested at certified planting sites of their choice.
“We’re grateful that Cosy Inc. and Gunma Paz University contacted us to adopt the PrintReleaf service and become our first partner and customer, respectively, in Japan.” said Jordan Darragh, Founder and CEO of PrintReleaf.
As a managed print services provider, Cosy’s mission is to exchange technologies between Japan and overseas that contribute to a better world.
“Last year, Gunma Paz University installed print management software with COSY Inc. and found that they were using a significant amount of paper, so we introduced them to PrintReleaf. Although printing is required for most students, PrintReleaf gives universities the ability to track their paper usage and reforestation progress— inspiring motivation to save our forests. COSY Inc. currently has over 140 university clients all across Japan and plans to introduce PrintReleaf systems to them all.” stated Jay Morikawa of COSY Inc.
PrintReleaf creates a global sustainability standard by certifiably guaranteeing to ‘releaf’ the paper consumption of PrintReleaf customers. The patented PrintReleaf technology not only tracks customers’ paper usage and certifiably reforests that usage on an equivalent basis, but also monitors PrintReleaf reforestation partners to ensure fulfilment.
