Printerre suffers major fire
August 2, 2023
The company plans to restart production following a devastating fire.
On Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023, around 3 am a massive fire broke out at the Printerre printer and consumables remanufacturing company, situated in Mézières-en-Drouais, resulting in extensive damage to its 6,000 m2 industrial premises. Approximately 75 firefighters using 19 engines and a drone to seek out fire hotspots worked tirelessly to control the fire, which consumed the production section of the building. The administrative and storage spaces were undamaged. No persons were reported injured.
The story was first reported by Le Echo Republicain.
The management of Printerre has expressed their commitment to restart production as soon as possible. Despite facing potential technical unemployment for around 30 employees, the company is keen to bounce back and continue their specialized work in the reconditioning of ecological printers.
To aid in their recovery, Printerre is actively seeking a cartridge cleaning station and toner filling machine to get their operations back on track and providing crucial services to their customers. If you can help, please contact jor.reader@therecycler.com who will pass your details to the company.
The local community and authorities are rallying behind Printerre to support their recovery efforts and ensure a swift return to productivity. Residents in the area are urged to report any smoke and debris fallout in their homes to the town hall, especially concerning asbestos-containing roof debris scattered around the site.
