PRINTek goes solar
December 16, 2020
PRINTek, the Hungarian remanufacturer, has taken a step forward to reduce its carbon footprint by installing solar panels on the roof of its factory.
The project has been under development since late 2019 with the support by the European Union. Planning permission was then granted in June of this year. The panels were installed by a local company with solid references in the industry, the company said.
Located high on the factory roof, the panels can only be seen briefly as they are not visible from the ground. The 50kW installation was completed in December 2020 and will provide 50kWh of clean energy to the company, reducing its carbon footprint by 15,000 kilograms per year.
Commenting after the completion of the installation, Gyorgy Koppany, MD of PRINTek said “Our company is working hard to reduce our carbon footprint. I am delighted that our new installation is making a contribution that takes us towards this. Even remanufacturers as we are should do extra efforts towards sustainability.”
