Dr Zhang Tao to lead global standards for ink systems and sustainability.
Dr Zhang Tao, Vice President of Print-Rite, has been appointed to two expert ISO working groups. Amove the company says reflects its commitment to international standards and green development.
Following formal notification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Dr Zhang will now serve on WG2 (Consumables) and WG6 (Sustainability) under ISO/IEC JTC1/SC28.
According to Print-Rite, WG2 will focus on standards for continuous ink supply systems, while WG6 is tasked with developing ISO/IEC 22983, which sets definitions and guidelines for circular economy and green development.
Dr Zhang has worked on ISO/IEC JTC1/SC28 since 2018, including as a member of the Advisory Group. He also joined WG5 (Colour Management) in 2023, helping lead the drafting of ISO/IEC 25397, the Copy Test Chart standard.
Print-Rite noted that since 2004 it has been the only Chinese manufacturer represented in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC28. The company holds 1 AG seat and now 9 WG seats, with 26 registered drafter qualifications — six in lead roles.
“With these new WG2 and WG6 seats, we’re strengthening China’s voice in global standards and fuelling the industry’s green, sustainable growth,” the company said.
Print-Rite is a leading manufacturer in China’s generic consumables sector, with over two decades of involvement in standardisation efforts.
