Print-Rite opens 3D Printing Innovation hub
July 19, 2018
In June 2018, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau 3D Printing Innovation Hub was officially opened in Zhuhai, the result of a collaboration between Print-Rite and local government.
The hub was officially opened on 28th June 2018, with the highlight of the event being the world’s first patented 3D printed lion head.
The facility is the culmination of a partnership between Zhuhai Free Trade Zone Administration Committee and Print-Rite and it was launched with the goal of cultivating new resources in the field of 3D printing industry, and supporting the scale-up development of the entire industrial chain. Serving as a demonstration in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau regions, the hub will be promoting the industry upgrade of 3D printing.
Considered to be the city’s first government-enterprise cooperation 3D printing industry incubator to date in Zhuhai, the 3D Printing Innovation Hub is set to focus on boosting the concept on “3D Creates Infinity Possibilities”, providing help for full end-to-end services in 3D printing.
The hub is defined as an innovation incubation centre in 3D printing, and will provide start-ups and SMEs with a ‘one-stop’ shop to assess, guide and address their needs in 3D printing, including:
- Education and training
- Business and mentoring
- Accelerate adoption and development
The hub is equipped with industrial-grade 3D printing facilities and materials, designed for supporting the research capabilities in all incubation phases. The pilot plant and growing resources in terms of software, labs, hardware, and materials available at the hub allow for on-the-ground understanding of each area of 3D printing.
A variety of 3D printing solutions available at the facility have been installed with the intent to showcase and educate on the potential for real-world applications:
- FDM 3D Printing
- SLA 3D Printing
- Resin 3D Printing
- SLS Nylon 3D Printing
- SLM Metal 3D Printing
- Laser Engraving 3D Printing
- 3D Scanning
In this brand-new innovation hub, start-ups will be able to explore the many possibilities of 3D printing, as well as to build creative collaborations with manufacturers to accelerate the adoption and development of 3D printing technologies.
