Print Audit Australasia breaks from ECI
July 20, 2020
Following the takeover of Print Audit by ECI in the USA, Print Audit Australasia switched to 3manager and rebrands as MPS Cloud Software.
In December 2018 ECi Software Solutions, the Texan cloud-based business management solutions provider, announced the takeover of print management solutions company Print Audit and its plan for Print Audit to become part of ECi’s Field Service Division.
In the Australasia region Print Audit Australasia the company operated for 12 years as the print management vendor and earlier this year relaunched as MPS Cloud Software.
Speaking to crn.com.au “MPS Cloud managing director Barry Mortimer told CRN that the relationship with Print Audit ended following the vendor being acquired by US-based ECI Software Solutions in 2018.
“We weren’t agreeing with [ECI’s] plans for the Print Audit product going forward and so we decided to look elsewhere,” Mortimer said.
“We looked around and there’s probably six products in the print management space and by far the best one was 3manager.”
“The MPS space is highly competitive as more and more devices move from transactional to contractual sales. The key is both the amount of devices monitored and the openness of the platform in terms of being able to monitor all the devices on the network, irrespective of the brand.” said David Connett, partner at Connett & Unland GbR.
Commenting further Connett said “we are seeing fundamental changes in the print market and a movement away from expensive, highly spec’d A3 MFD’s which are giving way to smaller, full-featured A4 devices that are becoming more important in the flexible homeworking/ schooling environment. In this sector monitoring really has to be simple, app-based technology.”
