PCL Direct appoints new Export Sales Manager

May 22, 2025

The company has appointed Mark Currie as UK and Export Sales Manager.

Currie brings over four decades of technical and commercial experience to his new role, having worked with leading manufacturers, dealers and remanufacturers throughout the print and imaging industry.

Currie began his career in 1979, as an engineer with Canon UK, at just 17 years old. Over the years, he has worked as Service Director for Canon dealer, CoFax, a Colour Specialist at Kodak, and held senior sales roles within Katun and Allcopy. Most recently, Mark spent 20 years at Allcopy, a producer of compatible toner, with a turnover of £4 million ($5.36 million/ €4.74 million) per year. Throughout his career, he has developed an enviable reputation for service, loyalty, and customer retention.

Currie has known the PCL Direct team informally for several years and says the timing now feels right for a new challenge.

“I’ve known Ian McIntyre, PCL Direct Group’s Sales Director, for quite some time, having met him at various industry events, and we have built a friendly relationship over the years. After meeting with Director, Andy Ellis and Technical Director, Dave Higgott, I could see the direction and potential of the company. Making the move was a big decision, having been at Allcopy for so long, but it feels like the right fit, now, for me and my customers,” said Currie.

Based in Kilmarnock, Scotland, Currie will be responsible for developing key relationships with dealers and distributors across the UK and further cultivating the company’s routes to export markets. His knowledge of Canon, Ricoh, UTAX and now Konica Minolta, will play a central role in helping to expand the group’s reach, PCL Direct explained.

Currie added: “I’m excited to be part of a team with a shared drive and vision. With the combined knowledge and product range, we have a real opportunity to continue to grow in the UK and across Europe. I’m already introducing PCL Direct’s product range to my long-standing client base and looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”

Andrew Ellis, Director at PCL Direct, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team. His experience and reputation across the imaging consumables sector are second to none. He’s already making a positive impact, and we’re looking forward to seeing the business grow as a result of his excellent reputation and experience in this important area.”

When he is not working with dealers and distributors, Mark enjoys golf and spending time with his eight grandchildren, though he jokes that neither hobby is especially restful.
