April 7, 2022
Paperworld India is gearing up to bring the stationery industry together through its launch edition in May.
Slated to be held from 12 – 14 May 2022 at Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC), Paperworld India will open doors for the first time alongside Corporate Gifts Show and Interior Lifestyle India presented by Ambiente India. Reynolds has signed up as associate sponsor of this key business event for the Indian market that will encompass emerging trends and innovative displays in the world of stationery.
Other companies who have confirmed participation at Paperworld India 2022 include Alpha International (Staedtler), Anupam Stationery, Creative Hands (Brustro), FCE Lifestyles Pvt Ltd (Lamy), Global Writings (Supra), Imperial Pen Industries (Legend Pens), Kanin India Limited – Kangaro, KD Enterprises (Da Vinci Art Brush & Daniel Smith), Linc Pen & Plastics Pvt Ltd (Linc Pens), Luxor (Luxor, Parker), Mehta Prints Art Pvt Ltd, MPI Papers Private Limited, Ski Plastoware (Disney) and William Penn (Pennline). Alongside Reynolds, Newell Group will be showcasing products of their brands: Dymo, Sharpie and Papermate.
Fueled by a burgeoning young population, India stands out as a highly competitive market for school and office stationery. Despite the rise of digital learning platforms, the Indian stationery industry has grown into an INR 4000 Crore market. Furthermore, stationery trends have continued to evolve over time alongside the changing priorities of consumers.
Paperworld India explained that a lot has changed over the last couple of decades – brand consciousness has substantially permeated the psyche of Indian consumers. Today, parents are willing to spend slightly more in order to provide a good quality stationery product to their children. School stationery brands, therefore, are in a constant race to innovate and improve the quality and functionality of their products, in order to make them more appealing to the modern generation of school-goers.
Even in the domain of office supplies, the stationery industry has emerged quite flexible and adaptive. When offices were under lockdown, the industry had shifted its focus to work-from-home oriented products to maintain business continuity and tend to new consumer demands.
The alarming concern for the environment has also brought attention to eco-conscious or sustainable stationery. Not only paper but even pens, compass boxes and other writing instruments are being recycled today. This not only contributes to ecological preservation but also allows manufacturers to significantly reduce their expenditure by repurposing discarded products, instead of acquiring new raw materials.
Paperworld India said: “While Indian stationery had been a disorganised sector in the past, increasing influx of both domestic and foreign brands, an uptrend in buying patterns and excessive cash inflow in the market are gradually transforming it into a highly lucrative business ground.”
Opening in May with these diverse, innovative and unique product showcases, Paperworld India 2022 will provide a strong reboot to the stationery industry and bring strong trade opportunities to businesses converging on its show floor from across the country.
