Douglas Pitassi, CEO of Pacific Office Automation (POA), is facing sexual harassment and assault allegations from two former employees. The plaintiffs, who are using fictitious names for anonymity, allege in the lawsuit, filed in Multnomah County, Oregon, that Pitassi made repeated sexual misconduct acts between the mid-2010s to 2022, involving unwanted advances and assaults during company events and trips? Pitassi and POA have denied the allegations, labelling them as false and unsupported.
POA is a private company based in Beaverton, Oregon. Established in 1976 by Terry Newsom, it has grown to become one of the largest independently owned office equipment dealers in the United States.
Despite the legal challenges, POA has continued to expand its business operations. Recently, the company announced a 9% revenue growth in 2023, hitting $458 million (€423 million) in sales, with significant gains in the South Eastern U.S. They have also acquired Maunakea Integrated Solutions in Hawaii, expanding their service offerings in the region. Additionally, POA was recognised by Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America as a Platinum Level Service Dealer for 2021-2022, underscoring their commitment to high service standards.
In 2021, POA acquired three Konica Minolta branch offices, further solidifying its presence in Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico. These strategic acquisitions and consistent revenue growth highlight POA’s ongoing business success amid the legal controversies surrounding its CEO.
