Orink updates cartridges due to firmware update

HP released a new firmware update on 27 August, which prompted Orink to update its CF259,CF415 (W2030) series toner cartridges.

Orink got notification from its chip supplier that HP just released new firmware version 002.2428A through its official website and WIFI, available since 27 August 2024. This prompted the company to update its compatible cartridges to work with this latest firmware.

This firmware update is specifically for printers installed with CF259, CF415 (W2030) series toner cartridges. Orink said that if the printer receives this update, the compatible toner cartridges may not be recognised.

The company believes that cartridges produced before 20 June 2024 will be influenced by this new firmware.

Orink concluded: “To avoid any problem or loss caused by the firmware upgrade, please check if you have the involved products in stock. Meanwhile we highly advise all our customers to send warnings to end-users not to manually update their printer firmware and disable HP Automatic Update so as to reduce the problem risks.”
