Oki impacted by material procurement issues

In the nine months period Oki reported decreased net sales but operating profit improved year-on-year (YoY).

Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd for the first nine months period of fiscal year 2022/23, ending 31 March 2022, reported net sales of ¥246.4 billion ($2.14 billion/ €1.87 billion), ¥20.5 billion ($178 million/ €156 million) less than in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In its Components & Platforms business segment, which includes its printers, net sales for the recording period were ¥138.5 billion ($1.2 billion/ €1.05 billion), a decrease of 0.6 billion year-on-year.

In light of the recent business trends due to the impact of COVID, semiconductor shortages and shipping costs, Oki has revised down the forecast for its full fiscal year 2022/2023.
