OKI Europe appoints new MD

April 5, 2023

Takaaki Hagiwara has been appointed Managing Director of OKI Europe.

OKI Europe announced the appointment of Takaaki Hagiwara as Manging Director to strengthen OKI’s leading position within the professional printing technology market and spearhead growth in the EMEA and India region of additional OKI solutions, the company explained.

Prior to his new appointment, Hagiwara served as VP Corporate Planning OKI Europe, he was also engaged in the transformation and administration of the business. Takaaki Hagiwara succeeds Tsukasa Takasawa, who has been appointed into a new business development role in Singapore.

Hagiwara has been with OKI since 1990, originally joining the company in the Overseas Sales and Marketing division. He brings a wealth of experience to his role, having already served in many senior positions within OKI, including as Managing Director of OKI Systems (UK) Ltd. between 2013-2018, where he was responsible for building the company’s position in the business-to-business printer, document output and management markets, while growing relationships with channel and business partners and core business customers across the UK, Ireland and Nordic region.

OKI Europe explained that in his new role as Managing Director of OKI Europe, Hagiwara’s focus will be on the continued development of solutions for verticals and new applications within the professional print technology market in the EMEA and India regions, and to explore opportunities for the application of OKI technology that has already been commercialised in other regions.

“I look forward to leading OKI Europe in this exciting new phase of the company’s growth. After a period of transformation, OKI Europe will continue its focus on printing technology, expanding its verticals and applications, including labels and packaging, while also exploring the introduction of additional technologies into the EMEA region that are already commercially available in Japan,” said Hagiwara.

“I am very confident handing over my responsibilities to Takaaki Hagiwara. This is an exciting time for OKI Europe, and with the appointment of Hagiwara, OKI Europe is well-positioned to capitalise on the many opportunities for OKI technology solutions to be applied for solving real-world problems, both within the print technology market and beyond,” commented Tsukasa Takasawa on the new appointment.

Takaaki Hagiwara holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Kyoto Sangyo University, graduating in 1990. He joined OKI in the same year, originally entering the company in the Overseas Sales and Marketing Department.
