Oki deals with supply chain issues
August 11, 2022
The company has released its first quarter results for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2023.
Oki recorded net sales of ¥78.1 billion ($589 million/ €570 million), a slight decrease which the company said was due to a production decline caused by a shortage of materials, such as semiconductors. Despite the company being impacted by supply chain issues, operating income stayed stable.
For the components and platforms business segment that includes OKI’s LED printers, net sales were ¥41.9 billion ($316 million/ €306 million), slight decrease compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Oki said: “We are currently working to strengthen our response to supply chain impacts, such as by enhancing procurement capabilities and optimising prices.” During the period the company managed to decrease fixed costs due to structural reforms.
