Spanish office supplier collapses after failing to repay pandemic loans.
Office24 Solutions S.L., a Spanish online retailer of office and school supplies, has filed for bankruptcy, with the Mercantile Court No. 11 admitting the proceedings and appointing FPF as the insolvency administrator. The company, based in Terrassa, Spain, sold a wide range of office furniture, stationery, workwear, and consumables, offering over 30,000 products with a 24-hour delivery service across the Iberian Peninsula.
The company’s website lists products such as printer consumables, adhesives, notebooks, filing solutions, office accessories, workplace equipment, ergonomics, and writing instruments. However, despite an annual turnover of €14 million (($15.27 million), Office24 struggled with rising costs and declining demand. The business had secured €3 million ($3.24 million) in ICO-backed loans during the pandemic, but local media reports suggest it could not meet repayment obligations.
According to Crónica Global, the company was founded in 2006 and employed 40 staff. It operated from a 4,000-square-metre warehouse in Terrassa, with another facility in Valencia. The report notes that Office24 took out 15 separate ICO loans in 2021, hoping to weather pandemic-related disruptions. It also highlights that the company holds stakes in other businesses, including Distribution of Supplies for Offices, Serrano Equipament Escolar i d’Oficina, and Snap N’Go.
The collapse of Office24 Solutions underscores the continuing impact of pandemic-era financial aid schemes, which have become a burden for many firms as repayment deadlines loom.
