Nubeprint includes scanners in monitoring software

November 24, 2022

Fujitsu Image Scanners fi and SP series are now integrated into Nubeprint’s remote management platform for use in hybrid work environments.

The Fujitsu Image Scanner fi and SP series can be remotely managed with Nubeprint’s device monitoring software. This cloud integration will enable SMEs, freelancers and other interested organisations to monitor the status of their scanning equipment and identify any needs or potential issues in advance.

This collaboration coincides with the trend towards hybrid or flexible working models that more Spanish SMEs could join in the coming years. In these work environments, document printing is still very present, but scanning is often done more to facilitate information accessibility and to comply with regulations, among other reasons.

According to a recent study by QuoCirca on the use of scanning, for 42% of organisations, one of the most important factors when it comes to getting a new scanner is precisely the ability to centrally manage the device.

In the case of Nubeprint Enterprise-Q, through a combination of machine learning and an ecosystem of data collectors, it identifies the operating scanner and processes information such as the number of scans so far, percentage and remaining days of use of consumables (brake and pick-up roller), launching warnings if it is necessary to replace any part, contact the manufacturer for incidents or anticipate these.

The user can access Nubeprint status and monitoring data from any device, including a smartphone thanks to the Nubeprint app. The addition of new models in the fi and SP series, or similar in operation, will be done automatically and transparently without the need for intervention from the end customer or Fujitsu Image Scanners. In this way, the end customer can enjoy the equipment and leave the management and maintenance of the equipment in the hands of their service provider.

This solution maximises the lifetime of the scanning equipment, improves its automatic monitoring and energy efficiency. For the latter, Nubeprint’s monitoring provides full traceability of the equipment and its inputs, which helps organisations to meet their ESG (environmental, social and governance) objectives. Optimal management can minimise or even neutralise environmental impact, for example, by scheduling technical visits to reduce travel, aligning manufacturing with actual future needs for parts and consumables, and ensuring a circular economy for all of them.

The combination of Nubeprint software and Fujitsu Image Scanners brings added value to both end customers and partners in terms of technology capabilities, warranties and support. Organisations in all sectors – government, banking, hospitals, retail, etc. – can benefit from all these services from the office or wherever their employees telework.

“Technology has managed to streamline business processes today. Document scanners have become part of the critical infrastructure of companies, where many tasks are still carried out on paper. Ensuring the availability of this equipment also means ensuring the accessibility, efficiency and effectiveness of these processes,” says Jesús Cabañas, general manager of PFU (EMEA) Limited for Iberia. “Our collaboration with Nubeprint provides partners and end users with remote management technologies for scanning devices in hybrid environments, where documents are printed and scanned, optimising the lifecycle of these products and making organisations more competitive.

“We are always looking to build a solution that ensures the best end-customer experience, and this has been the case in this collaboration with the PFU team, sharing knowledge and experience,” says Antonio Sanchez, co-founder and CEO of Nubeprint. “Many managed print service (MPS) resellers were also demanding to monitor scanners to integrate them into their customer contracts. Print will persist for many years to come with increasing digitisation of documents, changing the concept of equipment availability so that it can be accessed by any professional, wherever they work.

The Nubeprint Enterprise-Q product for process management, including monitoring and automation features, is associated with the Kit Digital programme, financed with Next Generation EU funds as part of the Spanish Government’s Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan.
