Ninestar reflects on FY2020 and 2021 Q1

The company recently released consolidated financial results for FY 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.
In its latest announcement Ninestar highlights that in the fiscal year 2020, total revenue was RMB 19.585 billion ($/ €) which was down 15.93% year-on-year. The company added that it experienced large exchange losses due to the RMB appreciation which meant losses in the year of RMB770 million ($/ €).
For the first quarter of 2021 revenue was down 7.31% at RMB 4.86 billion, but the company recorded 610.50% rise in profits year-on-year. The company said that for the first quarter reporting period it has seen some recovery of the global printer market and growth in sales volumes and revenue on the printer business, chip business and its consumables business.
For Lexmark, in FY2020 revenues were down 23.16% year-on-year with proifts falling 645.11% year-on-year. However, in Q1 of 2021 overall sales increased 11% year-on-year.
Pantum reached revenues of RMB2.25 billion ($/ €), a year-on-year increase of 50% and profits increased in 2020 by 41%. Nienstar added that Pantum has ssen sales volume growth of 119% in Q1 of 2021.
Apex Microelectronics’ shipments totalled 459 million units in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 23.14%. Revenue was up 13.33% for the reporting period at RMB 1.4 billion ($/ €). Ninestar said that Apex saw strong growth in the first quarter of 2021 already, with sales volumes increased 35% year-on-year.
For the consumables business, Ninestar recorded revenues of RMB 5.0 billion for 2020, a year-on-year increase of 17.97%. For the first quarter of 2021 sales volumes of consumables saw a year-on-year growth of 23% with revenue increases of 39%.
