Outlook hit by Lexmark sale, but key printer division shows sharp growth.
Ninestar has forecast a steep first-half net loss of RMB2 billion– 4 billion ($275 million–550 million/ €255 million– 510 million), citing the impact of its recent sale of Lexmark International.
The company said that excluding this one-off disposal, adjusted net profit is expected to reach RMB 300 million– 400 million ($41.3 million/ €38.3 million- $55.1 million/ €51 million).
In its unaudited earnings forecast, Ninestar projected strong second-quarter results from its Pantum printer business. Revenue is set to climb 33% quarter-on-quarter to RMB 1.316 billion ($181 million/ €168 million), while net profit is expected to jump 136%.
Printer demand in China’s domestic innovation sector is forecast to grow sharply, with unit sales up 130% over Q1. A3 copier sales are expected to rise 115% year-on-year.
