January 12, 2021
Ninestar said it leads the aftermarket with 4,839 granted and 1,053 pending patents as of 30 June 2020.
The enormous patent portfolio includes patent in areas such as printer technology, chip technology, ink and toner cartridge technology, ink technology and 3D printers.
Ninestar said it keeps investing over 6% of its annual revenue in R&D. Today, nine R&D centers have been set up in Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, USA (North Carolina, Lexington, Kansas), India and Philippines. Over 600 talented engineers work hard to bring innovative products and solutions.
The company said: “Since its establishment, Ninestar has been in the forefront of many innovations, first one to introduce Epson-compatible ink cartridges featuring a micro-pressure valve that eliminated the problem of wasted residual ink that would remain in the OEM’s spent ink cartridges in 2003; first one in the third-party supplies industry to become a hardware manufacturer through supporting its affiliated company Pantum to release its line of laser printers with their own engine technology in 2010; first to market with a solution that avoided infringing OEM’s related patents also known as dongle gear in 2014.”
“As an intellectual properties leader in the printing consumables industry, Ninestar has also spared no effort to defend its intellectual property rights. In May 2020, Ninestar won a patent-infringement lawsuit against Zhongshan Yuzhe; in November 2020, Ninestar helped its Australian partner to win the final appeal by providing legal support for five years; in last December, Ninestar successfully safeguarded its toner cartridge patent rights in a patent dispute with Fuzhou Sixi and Shanghai Luochen,” the company added.
In 2017 Ninestar released a white paper which contains a detailed overview of the growth of the company and its success. You can read it here: The White Paper “Innovating Success”.
