Blue Planet Ink has launched new Paper Saver 545 self-erasing cartridges for Canon printers.

Responding to customer demand from outside its home country, Blue Planet Ink has launched Paper Saver 545 self-erasing cartridges for Canon printers. Customers had to buy Canon printers intended for the North America region to be able to use the company’s unique ink, but now many more can use locally available Canon printers.

Paper Saver ink is a purple-coloured ink that prints on normal paper and disappears after a few days so the paper can be reused. The same paper can be re-used indefinitely. With exposure to air the ink absorbs carbon dioxide and water vapour and undergoes a chemical reaction which lowers its pH. As the pH drops the dye in the ink becomes colourless.

“We are still a small company but are starting to have a larger impact in saving paper. The ink we sell in a month can save enough paper to stack higher than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Customers outside of the United States are the leaders in paper re-use and we are pleased to make it easier for them join the paper-reuse movement,” said Carl Yee, President of Blue Planet Ink.
