Morgenstern Group has contained a cyber breach but runs in reduced mode during system checks.
German office equipment provider Morgenstern Group has disclosed that it repelled an attempted cyberattack on 7 August, forcing the company to operate in emergency mode while systems undergo forensic review. External IT specialists, police in Esslingen, and the firm’s in-house team are working to restore full services “as quickly as possible”.
The company emphasised transparency, inviting customers to reach out via hotline 07121/ 910-150 or email service@morgenstern.de. The incident comes only weeks after IT distributor Ingram Micro suffered a ransomware attack that temporarily halted operations.
Morgenstern did not disclose the attackers’ origin or method but stressed that preventative measures had been effective.
